Blue’s K9 Orgin Story
Hello,
My name is Olivia, and from a young age, my heart has always been drawn to animals, with dogs holding a special place within it. A pivotal moment in my life came one scorching summer day at the tender age of seventeen. While off-roading in a remote area, a friend and I stumbled upon three forsaken German Shepherds—a mother, father, and their pup. These poor souls were emaciated, scarred by cruelty, and the father, whom we named Blue, bore severe leg injuries. Without hesitation, we brought them home, determined to offer solace. While my friend tended to the mother and daughter, I took Blue under my wing.
Blue's spirit was shattered; haunted by past traumas, adjusting to life on three legs, he found little joy in existence. Despite uncertainties, my heart urged me to aid him. Immersing myself in research on rehabilitating dogs with emotional scars, I chanced upon Animal Behavioral College (ABC)—a beacon of hope for both Blue and me. Completion of the program led me to a remarkable mentor, guiding me in honing my skills to assist others wanting to establish profound connections with their canine companions.
Day by day, Blue taught me the virtue of patience. A virtue that bore fruit as he blossomed into a new being! He embraced each day with newfound zest, eagerly greeting strangers and embarking on adventures by my side. Alongside his transformation, I delved into Veterinary Assistant/Tech training, dedicating years at a vet clinic. Blue, in his own gentle way, coached other animals through their fears of the vet's office.
Amidst these experiences, I encountered numerous tales of people grappling with their dogs' behavioral challenges, often considering surrender as the only solution. Witnessing the potential for growth in these animals, I resolved to forge a different path. In the year 2020, bidding farewell to my clinic job, I embarked on a voyage towards a dog training career. Thus, Blue's K9 Tips & Tricks came into being—an endeavor aimed at fostering profound bonds between people and their furry companions.
Since that pivotal decision, I've been given the privilege to guide countless individuals and their beloved pets towards harmonious living. It is a journey filled with gratitude, where I witness transformations in relationships, paving the way for a shared existence of love and understanding.
Meet the Pack
Let me introduce you to some of my special furry companions..
First, there's Stryker, a German Shepherd mix, whose story began amidst a tumultuous thunderstorm. I crossed paths with him while driving, a tiny six-week-old bundle of fur in need of love. Despite our efforts to reunite him with his original owners, fate had other plans. We welcomed him into our lives, and now, at seven years old, Stryker revels in cuddle sessions, long walks, and joyous car rides to Weinerschnitzel.
Next, meet Shenzi, a lively Belgian Malinois, whose presence graced us during a bustling day at the vet clinic. She was brought in by a concerned client after witnessing her abandonment. Instantly captivated by her spirit, I felt compelled to give her a forever home. Although we scoured for her previous family, none came forward. At four months old, Shenzi exuded a playful energy reminiscent of a velociraptor. Her days are filled with endless games of fetch, with an impressive collection of over twenty balls, and an unwavering enthusiasm for training, agility, and snuggling sessions.
And in loving memory, we bid farewell to Blue, a cherished companion who left us on April 3rd, 2020. Our journey together began in 2012, estimated to be around three years old at the time. Through our shared experiences and training, Blue underwent a remarkable transformation, evolving into a beacon of love and loyalty. Together, we explored the wonders of nature, from sandy dunes to calm river waters, starlit camping adventures, and tranquil evenings spent side by side. Blue's legacy lives on as an inspiration, fueling my dedication to assisting countless other dogs in unlocking their true potential as beloved companions.
